What made iPhone 3G S a better Phone than iPhone 3G?

As Most of us know Apple has just recently release the new iPhone 3G S. It is certainly one of the biggest news for all Apple and iPhone fans and a lot of people can't wait to get their hands on one of these babies. However, have you guys actually did research about the difference between iPhone 3G and iPhone 3G s? Or you purchase just for that additional "S" in the name and assume it is a better product. This is a comparsion between iPhone 3G and iPhone 3G s for those who want to know what they received.

iPhone 3G vs iPhone 3G s:

  • Performance: iPhone 3G s upgraded from iPhone 3G's 412MHz CPU to 600MHz CPU. The Ram memory upgraded to 256MB. These upgrade certainly boosted up the performance of the phone.
  • Camera quality improved, from 2 megapixel to 3 megapixel. The camera also added auto focus, slowly catching up to a normal digital camera. It also added video recording. very nice.
  • They added video editing, voice control and compass. With the video editing and voice control you can create a quick movie and send it to youtube while you don't have a computer around you. Compass will be a good tool to keep you alive in the forest =].
  • Battery life has some improvement, talking on 2G can get up to 12 hours instead of 10. One can use 9 hours of internet through Wi-Fi instead of 6 hours. Audio playback up to 30 hours and up to 10 hours of video play back. Using 3G in talking or internet still remain up to 5 hours.
The most exciting changes are probably the camera and performance upgrade. However, in my opinion, these upgrade certainly improve but not the most impress upgrades. Most people who like to take picture will probably continue to use normal or professional digital camera instead. Video editing and compasses are probably some pretty easy application that can will later, or already is compatible with iPhone 3G.
If Apple wanted to release a new iPhone in the future, I think they should look at the Wi-Fi detection model for the iPhone, since internet use for 3G can only last 5 hours and Wi-Fi can last 9 hours. People might prefer using Wi-Fi to go online instead. Possibly a better security system for iPhone like finger print scan. In the mean time, for those who want to purchase a new iPhone, unless you really like all those new feature, I suggest you to grab the change to you less money to buy a iPhone 3G instead ($99).

Gadget I want to buy: Sanyo VPC-HD1010BK

Seemingly it is just a simple camera, butj with the price of $699.00, i believe the feature is far better than what we can imagine.

Sanyo VPC-HD1010BK functions as a digital camera and digital camcorder. It can record wither 1080p (30fps) or 1080i (60fps) HD video and 4-megapixel digital still images. With a 10x Optical HD Lens it can capture 4 times more light than any other conventional models. Face detection and chase technology allow user to capture a much clear picture of the person. For more feature please visit http://us.sanyo.com/SANYO-Store/VPC-HD1010BK-Full-1080p-HD-Video-30fps-and-4MP-Photos

I always wanted to create my own movie. One thing that is absolutely needed is a good digital video recorder. I believe this is one of the best choose I can get. Great quality, easy to carry around, and a acceptable price. I believe I can make a pretty good movie with this. However, this is still not a Professional video camera, which makes me wonder, what are the differences between professional camera and standard everyday use camera. Other than they have a MUCH better quality in video and sound in/output. I always feel like they can capture a much better feel of foreground, middle ground and background, meaning their video actually let the audiences feel the distance inside the picture, where the everyday use camera, their video output seems flat, lacking that distance feel. If I ever have a chance, I want to compare them myself.
